Fast and much more ecological than the car, the train remains one of the most practical means of transport to cross France. Whether you take it regularly or occasionally, the train and the price of its ticket can put some people off. That is why the SNCF developed OUIGO a few years agoson service de TGV Low cost.

What is OUIGO?
OUIGO is the SNCF low cost service. An OUIGO train is a train that can accommodate many more passengers than a conventional train. There is no bar car, there is only one class of travel and luggage space is limited.
Although low cost, journeys with OUIGO remain comfortable and customizable. Indeed, you can take advantage of the Espace Tranquille, electrical outlets or an option for additional luggage.
In which MEL stations can I take my OUIGO?
It is possible to take advantage of the OUIGO service within the MEL itself. Lille Flandres station and Tourcoing station allow you to reach the rest of France at low cost.
Lille Flandres station
You can take the SNCF OUIGO service starting directly from the city center of Lille. Indeed, the Lille Flandres station sees, every day, many OUIGO TGVs depart from its platforms.
Bus, metro, tram, all ilevia networks converge on Lille Flandres station. The two metro lines, the Lille-Roubaix tram line and 16 bus lines allow you to reach Lille Flandres station and drop you off a few steps from the platform where your TGV OUIGO will depart from.
Tourcoing station
If your OUIGO TGV leaves from Tourcoing station, 6 bus lines can take you there serenely.
If you leave from Lille city center you can reach Tourcoing station very easily by taking metro line 2 and stopping at the Gare de Tourcoing stop. You will then need a few minutes on foot to reach Tourcoing station.
Where to go with the OUIGO TGV?
OUIGO allows French travelers to cross France at a lower cost.
Indeed, several stations are served by the OUIGO service:
Roissy Charles de Gaulle TGV airport, Agen, Aime la Plagne, Aix-en-Provence TGV, Albertville, Amiens (Haute Picardie TGV station), Angoulême, Angers Saint Laud, Antibes, Auray, Avignon TGV, Bordeaux, Bourg-Saint-Maurice , Cannes, Colmar, Grenoble, Laval, Le Mans, Les Arcs-Draguignan, Lille (Lille Flandres station), Lorient, Lyon, Marne la Vallée, Marseille, Massy TGV, Metz (Lorraine TGV station), Montauban, Montpellier, Moutiers, Nancy (Lorraine TGV station), Nantes, Nice, Nîmes, Paris, Paris Center, Paris East, Paris Gare de Lyon, Paris Montparnasse, Poitiers, Quimper, Reims (Champagne-Ardenne station), Rennes, Saint-Raphaël, Strasbourg, Toulon , Toulouse, Tourcoing, Tours (St Pierre des Corps station), Valence, Vannes.
From 2023, OUIGO will continue its deployment with new daily connections allowing to connect:
- Brest in the center of Paris, serving Saint-Brieuc, Guingamp, and Morlaix.
- La Rochelle to Paris, serving Poitiers, Niort and Surgères (only from Monday to Friday)
- Perpignan to Paris, with stops at Valence TGV, Nîmes Pont du Gard, Montpellier Sud de France, Sète, Agde, Béziers and Narbonne stations.
You can book your OUIGO ticket directly online or via the OUIGO application. Ticket reservations are available several months in advance. You can buy your OUIGO train tickets between 2 and 9 months in advance and up to 5 hours before the departure of the train.
Please note, during the end-of-year holidays or back-to-school season, tickets go fast. Especially since promotions and offers are springing up to offer you even more attractive prices.
Once your reservation and payment have been made, you will only have to wait 4 days before your departure to receive a confirmation email and print your ticket in hard copy or download it directly to your smartphone.
An ID will be requested from each passenger when boardingso don’t forget it!
Your trip with OUIGO in practice
Now that you have an OUIGO ticket, what are your options?
How can I modify or exchange my OUIGO reservation?
If you made a mistake or you encounter a setback, it is possible to modify your OUIGO reservation up to 1h30 before the departure of your train. You can change the departure date and/or time, but also the surname and first name of the passenger. It is also possible change your departure or arrival station for a station in the same agglomeration. These changes are achievable for an amount of 10 euros per passenger and by modified route. You can also add additional options.
To modify your reservation, simply :
- Go to the ouigo.com website, in the “My Reservations” section,
- Fill in the email address used during the reservation as well as your reservation number,
- Once validated, you can proceed with your exchange or your modifications through the different sections offered (no section will be offered to you less than 1h30 before the departure of your journey)
After your modification or exchange, remember to reprint your ticket. If you downloaded it on the app, you don’t have to do anything!
Attention, any changes are final.
Can I cancel my OUIGO train ticket?
In order to guarantee minimum prices, OUIGO reservations are non-cancellable and non-refundable whatever the reason.
The resale of OUIGO tickets is prohibited and the tickets are nominative.
What baggage is included in my OUIGO ticket?
Each traveler in possession of an OUIGO ticket (including babies and children) can travel with :
- 1 hand baggage not exceeding 36 x 27 x 15 cm (height x width x depth) + 1 cabin baggage not exceeding 55 x 35 x 25 cm (height x width x depth) + 1 additional piece of baggage if you have chosen to travel with the OUIGO PLUS offer,
- 1 hand luggage not exceeding 36 x 27 x 15 cm (height x width x depth) + 1 cabin luggage not exceeding 55 x 35 x 25 cm (height x width x depth) if you have chosen to travel with the offer OUIGO ESSENTIAL.
