The program was tight. The proud message from Heller after the preliminary round: “The team won all their games with an impressive performance and is therefore already among the top eight teams in Germany.” In the first game there was a 14:11 against the Domgymnasium Verden from Lower Saxony. Heller: “There were a few individual mistakes in attack, but this was compensated for by a solid team performance.” After that, the team with coach Lukas Klein faced CJD Rostock from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The sports school started strong, but again the OHG players convinced with consistent defense. Noah Saling scored the decisive hits for the 16:13 victory.
With victory against Dillingen in the semi-finals
The third game against the Sportschule Potsdam from Brandenburg was hard fought. The Landau won 14:13. Heller: “Especially the strong middle block by Paul and Noah Saling and Tilo Müller in the middle were convincing in defence.”
On Thursday, Heller saw a 15:10 victory over the first intermediate round opponent Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium Dillingen. Participation in the semi-finals was already certain after that. There was still the game against Hessen champion Elly-Heuss-Schule Wiesbaden, who had asserted himself confidently in his group. Wiesbaden won 16:12.
Berlin too strong
The team achieved great things by reaching the semi-finals.
