Otto has had an excellent Christmas business and can look forward to new records: The traditional company was able to increase its orders via otto.de by almost 60 percent compared to the previous year – according to its own statements, never before have so many shoppers made purchases via the in-house website like in recent Christmas business. Looking at the past 12 months, Otto was able to win almost 2 million additional active customers compared to the previous year. Expressed in figures, around 9.4 million active shoppers were recorded at otto.de, which corresponds to a growth of 30 percent.
In the past Christmas business, customers were particularly interested in products from the Home & Living and Electronic & Digital sectors. Here an increase in demand of more than 50 percent was recorded. However, this increase was topped by the Garden & DIY segment, in which demand grew by an impressive 66 percent. The company names cell phones, televisions, sofas, notebooks and shoes as the top 5 products with the highest demand on otto.de.
