Ottawa’s Reddick Library will host Illinois Dead Speeches – Shaw Local

Ottawa’s Reddick Library hosts an Illinois death program for adults.

In search of the dead in the right places, this fun “underground” presentation scheduled from 10:00 to 11:30 on Saturday, October 22 by Illinois researcher John Lynn explores hundreds of Illinois cemeteries where he has found interesting graves and tombstones, intriguing lives and dead, and many intrigues with funny names.

The following events are also scheduled for the week of October 17 at the Reddick Library, 1010 Canal St. Call 815-434-0509 for more information.

Monday 17 October from 13:00 to 14:00: Mystery Monday Book Club, adults. New members are invited to join this book club run by librarians. Copies of the book can be borrowed from the library. This month’s selection is Harlan Coban’s “The Boy from the Woods”.

Tuesday 18 October from 10:30 to 11:15: On your sign, get ready, read! An hour of history for 3 to 6 year olds to help them develop their literacy skills and prepare for school.

Tuesday 18 October from 16:00 to 17:00: Monster Bash, grades third to fifth. Celebrate the Halloween season with crafts and games in this fun monster party.

Tuesday 18 October from 18:00 to 19:30: Game Night, from the ninth to the last year. The library will have Cards Against Humanity (Family Edition), Uno, Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza, and many more games to play.

Wednesday 19 October from 10:00 to 10:30: Shake, vibrate, read! 9-36 months. An hour of entertaining musical history.

from 18:00 to 19:30: Wednesday 19 October: Tween Scene, from fifth to eighth grade. Join the library and bring friends for Xbox, Wii, board games and card games.

Thursday 20 October from 16:30 to 17:15: Pumpkin painting, from preschool to grade 2. Have fun decorating a pumpkin with paint, markers and glitter.

Saturday 22 October from 1.30pm to 3.30pm: The Loop group, adults. Learn to knit or crochet in a friendly environment with knowledgeable people.
