Evidence is mounting that this year’s E3 is doomed. The once famous video game holiday is being rejected by other publishers and is coming to the fore Summer Game Fest od Geoffa Keighleyeproducer and host of The Game Awards.
It joins Microsoft (Xbox), Nintendo (Switch), Sony (PlayStation) and Ubisoft Segapublishing Level Infinite of Tencent and Return Digital.
We do not know the position of other publishers, including Electronic Arts, Square Enix, Activision Blizzard and Epic Games. Their representatives declined to comment on whether they will attend E3 2023.
Resources IGN they state that the organizers ReedPop and ESA have a problem with communication and they haven’t heard from anyone that they are definitely planning to attend this year’s fair.
However, many publishers claim to participate in Play Days, i.e. presentations within the Summer Game Fest. Keighley promises that this summer’s show will be the largest in history. It will take place on 6/8 and should therefore bring the gaming industry together instead of E3. If there is one, it will take place from 13 to 16 June.
