Cuban actress Irela Bravo continues visiting Miami for an indefinite period and, this Monday, January 8, he took the opportunity to share with the influencer Alexander Otaola on his YouTube program Morning person.
In a conversation with breakfast included, the YouTuber could not put aside the controversy, touching on calm topics such as the actress’s career, and then forcing her to give her opinions on the political and social situation in Cuba.
Recalling past times on the Island, Otaola praised Bravo as a powerful woman, highlighting that she was one of the few actresses on television with colored skin, which made her stand out favorably.
Bravo, for his part, stated that his success was achieved through his own merits, although he noted that, despite all his efforts, he was never able to purchase a car with the income he had in Cuba.
Coming to political issues, Otaola seemed to recall the recent interview of the actress with Ian Padrón on his program Right to Replywhich he considered “cowardly”so he was frontal in his questions.
While with Padrón the actress had declared herself “ignorant” of these issues and refused to give a forceful response about the changes that the Island needs, on this occasion and under pressure from Otaola, Bravo referred to the situation of the political prisoners and condemned the repression of the regime.
The actress even mentioned the violent repression of July 11, 2021, in the so-called 11J, although she continued to avoid diving deeper into the talk.
Irela turned more to the personal, and argued that his connection with the Island is not linked to material possessions, highlighting that no one has given him anything.
In a nostalgic turn, he also shared details about the difficult “special period,” revealing that he spent several years homeless, and describing the hardships he experienced during that time.
The outcome of the interview left Otaola asking Irela Bravo not to do anything that favors those who made her escape from Cuba.
