Osvaldo Miniguini, from Honrar la Vida, spoke about the blood drive that will take place on August 26 at the Luz y Fuerza union, on Cochea Street. Miniguini stressed the importance of this event, which will be the second collection at that location.
Miniguini also pointed out the growing success of the call: “People are becoming more encouraged to donate, because if there is no blood donor, there is no transplant, there is no surgery, there is nothing.” He also made a special call for more people to become bone marrow donors, stressing that ““They are 40% in the world, those that are compatible.”
Last year, the organization was able to perform six ablations thanks to organ donation, an achievement that Miniguini called “very positive.” Although there have been changes in the authorities, the commitment remains firm. “Today we have regained second place in donation, ablations and transplantation,” he commented, also mentioning the collaboration with the new director.
Miniguini explained that anyone between 18 and 65 years old can donate, although 16-year-olds can also do so with the consent of their parents. “We are taking an important step and working hard on this and mainly with blood donation, which with all these campaigns we supply to all the hospitals in the province,” he emphasized.
