The mayor of Osuna (Seville), Rosario Andújar, has visited the works of the Álvarez Quintero theater to check the current state of execution and announce that the city council has received a grant of more than three million euros for the final completion of this cultural space located in the center of the town.
Rosario Andújar has clarified that “this subsidy that the Diputación de Sevilla has granted through the Plan Contigo should be destined only and exclusively to the completion of large-scale cultural spaces such as this theater.”
The mayor of Osuna has shown her satisfaction with what she considers to be “good news, given that the restoration of this space has been pending for years and it is a theater that Osuna needs and deserves.”
Regarding this grant, Rosario Andújar has highlighted that “only some municipalities in the province that had pending finalization of cultural spaces have received it, being this city council the one that has received the largest amount from this call for this specific purpose, that is, to conclude the works of a theater that will be used for cultural activities and that will be given a multifunctional character, with activities that are adapted to these spaces “.
The mayor of Osuna has explained that “the theater is currently in conditions to undertake its completion, so the intention is to start this last phase as soon as possible since the complete project is written. The next step will now be to begin the administrative process of tender to award the completion work, to get a theater with all its equipment and with which we will try to reproduce the old Álvarez Quintero Theater, safeguarding its image as much as possible, although making the most of the spaces to that we can have as many seats as possible, which will be around 500 “.
Rosario Andújar has stated that the final completion date of the theater cannot be specified due to the different administrative deadlines that must be met after the preparation of the specifications for the award of the work, but that when the bidding process is in place, it will be reported duly of said deadlines, which will be published both for the knowledge of the interested companies and for the neighbors to know that information.
