Ostapenko loses in round of 16 doubles at WTA 1000 in Toronto

Ostapenko and Kichenok, seeded second and out of the first round, lost 6-7 (7-9), 6-4, 7-10 to China’s Jiang Xinyu and Taiwan’s Wu Wanxien.

After losing the first match, Ostapenko ended the tournament with ten WTA doubles ranking points.

In singles, the tennis player from Latvia who is ranked 11th in the world will meet the Spaniard Paula Bados (WTA 62) in the second round.

The Toronto “WTA 1000” tournament will be held from August 6 to 12 on hard courts.
