This competition was carried out internally within the pediatric pole of Cerdagne.
The 5th year students of follow-up care and rehabilitation (SSR) at the pediatric pole of Cerdagne – Association for education, training, prevention and autonomy (Alefpa), an establishment specializing in the care of children with chronic pathologies, and their teachers have worked on the principle of equality and the fight against all forms of discrimination. This project led by the professor of history, geography and moral and civic education (EMC) was proposed following the tragic events of October and in order to address the theme “Equality for living together: how to fight against discrimination? “.
In this context, the students worked on a comic book, Me, racist! ?* from the European Commission. They then produced posters to raise awareness and take action against discrimination.
A competition to choose the best poster was organized internally. During the creation of these posters, some addressed racial discrimination, others equality, homophobia, cyber harassment or even respect … through collaborative work, reflection, creation and expression. With the result a very good investment of all the students.
The poster that won the most votes spoke of racial discrimination. Osama (12 years old) and Rayan (12 years old) both worked on this important theme for them: “We talked about discrimination in relation to skin color. We wanted to tell the whole world that we all have hearts and they are the same color.”
Chaïma and Soraya came in second by proposing a poster against homophobia.
The investment of this class in this project is remarkable and the eight posters created for this occasion were exhibited within the establishment. The Égat drugstore offered pretty prizes to the winners during the competition.
