“Osokina Freedom Festival: Collaborations between Ukrainian and Latvian Musicians, Concert Programs, and Humanitarian Aid for Ukraine”

Also this year, for the opening concert, the festival initiated new collaborations between Ukrainian and Latvian musicians. Favorite Latvian artists met on one stage – The favorable type, Ralph Eiland, Melo-MKatrina Gupalo, Under the Scripture and Andrei Osokin himself to create joint musical numbers with Ukrainian musicians – Darya Leleko, Anastasia Yachmenkina, Anastasia Vasilenko, Viktoria Pritulyak and Yevgenia Nasonov. The concert was also attended by two Latvian-Ukrainian groups, which were created in Latvia shortly after the start of Russian hostilities in Ukraine – Without property and Shakima Trio, as well as the Riga State Classical Gymnasium choir, in which eight children from Ukraine also sing. The concert was opened by the new Ambassador of Ukraine to Latvia, Anatolij Kucevols, with a speech and presentation of a letter of thanks to Andrej Osokin.

“It’s unbelievable how fast the festival has developed – it was born covid during the restrictions four years ago and has now become an ambitious event in Latvian cultural life. In the beginning, our team was very small and we did everything ourselves – not only did we play concerts, but we also worked on advertising, created program concepts, were the lighting and tuners at concerts ourselves, carried tables, washed floors, scanned tickets, once even Katrina was a bartender. Well, our team is big and strong and unites excellent professionals from various fields who, because of a common dream, create fantastic events for musicians, actors, artists and their listeners,” reveal the authors and organizers of the festival, Katrīna Gupalo and Andrejs Osokins.

The festival will continue with two new concert programs – a concert by Andreja Osokina and the festival string quartet on May 27 in the cultural space Ola Foundation and a concert by Gundars Āboliņš and Andrej Osokina Sense games May 28 at the House of Blackheads.

At the beginning of June, two unusual programs will be played in the Anglican Church – a concert will be held on June 1 People, cats and musicwhile on June 2 – Avant-garde night concert.

on June 4 Amoralle Level-Up will be able to hear Katrīna Gupalo, while the final concert this year will be on June 10 at Riga’s Wagner House. Actresses Dita Lūriņa, Larisa Semirozumenko, and a string ensemble will take part in it Kremerata Lettonica and Andrei Osokin. Before the concert, a performance by Ukrainian artist Daria Kalashnikova will take place in the Wagner House How long can this go on?, as well as an exhibition dedicated to the Ukrainian war. June 11 in the culture room Ola Foundation the epilogue of the festival will take place – a solo concert by Georgi Osokina.

All ticket revenue generated during the festival will go to Ukraine – humanitarian, medical, defense and pet aid.
