The reason is the sharp increase in energy costs. Prices increase by four to six percent.
The Osnabrück municipal utilities are increasing the prices for their swimming pools at the turn of the year. Visitors then pay four to six percent more in Nettebad, Schinkelbad and Moscowbad. Pool manager Wolfgang Hermle cites higher wage costs and sharp increases in energy prices as the reason for the increased prices. They have more than tripled since 2019, from 1.1 million to around 3.5 million euros. According to Hermle, the price increases are moderate and significantly lower than in other German pools. But there are also pools that do not change their entrance fees. In Emsbad in Meppen (Emsland district), prices are expected to remain stable in 2024, the operator said at the request of NDR Lower Saxony.
