“Osmozis Launches Innovative Water and Power Management for Campsites”

Two years ago, the Hérault company Osmozis, which specializes in the digital transformation of campsites, set up Osmo Water and power. A technology for the management of water and electricity in holiday structures. A column in partnership with TouslÉco Montpellier.

Osmozis, headquartered in Clapier (Hérault), has several missions. Its core business is the installation of Wifi terminals in campsites and holiday villages to allow tourists to stay connected during their holidays. But two years ago, the Hérault company launched a new solution for managing water and electricity.

Drought episodes are more and more important and many departments are putting restrictions in place earlier and earlier. “To deal with climate change, campsites must find solutions to save this resource. One of the major challenges is repairing leaks, because they are very complicated to detect” explains Pierre Benoît Labbé, General Manager. Their Osmo water and power system allows campsite managers to monitor their water and electricity consumption.

Individual meters in each bungalow

Osmozis has developed connected meters to monitor electricity consumption and above all to detect water leaks. “All campsites have problems with water. In France, 20% of the drinking water produced escapes, via network leaks. In a campsite, a flush for example, 600 liters are lost per day” explains Pierre Benoit Labbé. The company has developed individual meters installed in each bungalow. A technology that relies on a network that communicates data. If a problem is detected, an SMS is sent directly to the technical manager to act as quickly as possible. Already about fifty campsites are equipped.

An increasingly popular technology

If for the moment, it is still difficult to quantify the liters of water saved with this technology, the feedback is already conclusive. “THE managers tell us about their experience and they have better monitoring of their consumption and above all, they have found leaks that they did not even know existed! In a year, we will be able to take stock” assures the general manager. In the meantime, for the past few months, the company has been receiving calls to install meters in structures.

The long-term objective: to raise awareness among holidaymakers. They will also be able to know their consumption during the stay and why not “Promote and reward those who really care“concludes Pierre Benoît Labbé.
