Khartoum Contemporary Art Center, a sanctuary in Oslo – in the middle between Africa and the Middle East, is now closing.

Bernt Ankers gate is a tired street stub in Oslo. A side street to the far more groomed Torggata.

These streets have always been small pockets where immigrants from different backgrounds have established themselves. They have been zealots. Some mostly out of necessity. When these imprints on the cityscape disappear, something distinctive is also erased.
