A man is seriously injured after a violent accident in Storgata in Oslo, Oslo police report.
– A man is injured in the upper body. An ambulance took him to the hospital and he is described as seriously injured, the police tweeted at 4:15 am.
The area around the incident is now cordoned off and police are working to track down and interrogate witnesses.
– The man in his forties was found lying on the street and is described as seriously injured with upper body injuries, operations manager Tor Gulbrandsen in the Oslo police district told NTB.
Some time later, in the morning, the hospital informs the police that the injuries are serious, but not life-threatening.
Police have no witnesses who saw the incident itself, but three people were seen fleeing the scene when the man was left behind.
– We don’t know what happened here, but the man has injuries that coincide with the use of a knife or other sharp object, says Gulbrandsen.
– The police have finished their investigation at the scene and released the area. No one was arrested for the accident. We will now review all the information obtained and the case will move to an investigation phase, the police wrote on Twitter shortly before 7am.
