On Friday evening between 9 and 11 p.m., the police carried out an operation at Grønland subway station where 554 people were checked. Two people were reported for carrying a knife, and one was reported for having pepper spray on them.
– There are too many cases where people are stabbed, we take it very seriously, says operations manager in the Oslo police district, Sven Martin Ege to Nettavisen on Sunday morning about why the police carry out such checks.
The police announced on X/Twitter that there will be more similar checks in the near future.
