Oslo Municipality: – Reported incorrect infection rates

On Saturday morning, the population in the capital woke up to an infection rate that was almost too good to be true.

That was it, too.

I statistics on those infected in Oslo and the districts, it is stated that Oslo has only had a single case of infection with the coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

So it was a mistake, and the actual number of infected in the last 24 hours is 17.

This is confirmed by Oslo Municipality to Dagbladet.

Last Saturday, 93 cases of infection were registered. There are thus 76 fewer infection numbers today than on Saturday a week ago.

Due to the error, they had to contact the Health Service to have the number quality assured. It is now confirmed.

City councilor Raymond Johansen also saw himself forced to write a post on Facebook over the surprisingly low number.

Oslo is in the process of a controlled and careful reopening of the city, and to Dagbladet Johansen writes in an e-mail that they are very happy about it.

– This is just a single number and daily numbers will go up and down, but the big picture over time shows that what we do works. Our goal has always been that when we open, we open for good. We now see that many return to work, after being unemployed for a long time, at the same time as people enjoy life in this city we are all so happy in, writes the city council leader.

He adds that this autumn they will spend several hundred million on creating work and activity, make up for lost learning in school and follow up on those who are struggling in various ways as a result of the pandemic.

– We are already well underway with planning for the city after the corona, because the pandemic leaves bad traces, Johansen writes.
