Oslo municipality is considering reporting a manager in Oslo municipality to the police after the person in question allegedly submitted incorrect travel invoices.
A manager in Oslo municipality quit the day after several serious discoveries were made in the person’s travel bills. This is revealed in a recent letter from the Municipal Audit Office to the Control Committee, write Aftenposten.
A law firm was hired to investigate the allegations against the manager last autumn. Several discoveries were then made, including in the travel bills. The law firm believes the manager has kept hours “in violation of the employee’s
non-statutory duty of loyalty”, and kept travel and expenses bills in violation of Oslo municipality’s rules. The investigators conclude that, among other things, the manager has obtained an “unjustified gain” from this.
The law firm also believes that the manager may have committed criminal offenses in the case of incorrect outlay bills and, according to the newspaper, the municipality is now considering reporting the matter to the police.
When the manager was made aware of the contents of the investigations, the person in question chose to resign from his job with immediate effect and asked to be paid back the amount that had been wrongfully paid out. A total amount of NOK 21,070 was then deducted from the manager’s next monthly salary.
