Oslo Arbeiderparti boasts in an advertisement that it has “built and rehabilitated 25 multi-purpose halls” in the past eight years. Handball mother Kaja Jørgensen decided to find out if this is true or not.
– I wanted to go through what actually exists, says Kaja Jørgensen to Nettavisen.
She drove from sports hall to sports hall and was surprised by what she found.
– In some places there were no halls or signs of construction activity, says Jørgensen.
– Bluff
She decided to post about the multi-purpose halls on Facebook.
– It looks impressive. The only problem is that it turns out to be pure bluff, she wrote about the political advertisement.
– Hello! It is rather awkward to claim that you have BUILT when the building does not exist at all, she adds.
Oslo Arbeiderparti itself admits that things have gone a little fast in the corners. Only 13 of the multi-purpose halls have been completed as of today. Read their full response below.

– It will be a long time before it will be ready. In that sense, we feel that it is a very big lie that it has built these halls, concludes Jørgensen.
– We feel cheated
Jørgensen found this out herself because she is a volunteer referee for 50 nine-year-old girls in the Bækkelaget Sports Club. She also has two teenagers who play handball.
– I hope people use their right to vote and vote for sports in Oslo. It’s not just us who feel cheated. I have been contacted by so many people from different sports teams, and I am not alone in feeling that this was a bit of a stretch.
– Went fast in the turns
Oslo Arbeiderparti admits that only 13 out of 25 halls are finished.
– Things have gone a little fast in the corners here. 13 halls are finished and in use, 12 of the halls have not been built, but have been financed and are being planned, says Øyvind Slåke, party secretary in Oslo Arbeiderparti, through the city council’s secretary on SMS.
At the same time, the party secretary emphasizes that the plans are underway.
– So the money is on the table and the plans are underway. There will be more halls that will benefit children and young people. Although we have a good track record of building what we plan, this will be too imprecise. We are therefore correcting the advertisement.
