Brynäs has secured yet another returnee from North America.
On Wednesday, the SHL newcomer announced that Oskar Lindblom is ready for a return to the club.

Oskar Lindblom is back in Brynäs.

Via its website, the Gävle team announces that the 27-year-old is returning home after seven seasons in North America.

– It feels incredibly good, I have always dreamed of coming back to Brynäs. To now be able to do when I am at a fairly young age where I feel that I can continue to develop feels extra good, I am very dedicated to this, says Lindblom.

The last time Lindblom played in Brynäs was the 2016/17 season, when he was recorded for 47 points (22+25) in 52 games in the regular season and finished in fourth place in the SHL’s scoring league. Since then, he has played 337 NHL games and produced 112 points.

Writing a 2+3-year contract

Last season there was one NHL game with the San Jose Sharks and 41 games in the AHL with the farm team San Jose Barracuda, where he produced 16 points.

– It is of course very gratifying that Oskar is coming home. He is a player that we all know what capacity he possesses and he knows very well what the club wants and stands for. He is not only a good hockey player, he is also a good person who always does his utmost and makes others better, that is something that we also value very highly. I have played with Oskar myself so I know how important he will be to this group. He is also at a good age where he has gathered a lot of experience but also has many years of hockey left in him, says sports manager Johan Alcén.

Oscar Lindblom is the second returner that Brynäs managed to secure after promotion to the SHL, as Jakob Silfverberg is already ready for the club. The 27-year-old is also the third reinforcement to be brought in from North America, as the newcomer has previously also finished with AHL goalkeeper Erik Källgren.

Lindblom’s contract with Brynäs extends over the 2025/26 season with an option for three more seasons.
