Silent supersonic Exosonic drones will make opponents of pilots during training

The US Air Force would like to train combat flights with supersonic drones. Such opponents would be vast opponents, and training would not burden so much experienced fighter pilots, who are scarce goods. Exosonic drones could become training rivals, the main advantage of which should be the quiet flight and the taming of the sonic bang.

The US Air Force recently awarded a contract to Exosonic, which develops supersonic drones with quiet flight. Sonic Bang is the nightmare of the creators of all possible supersonic machines. Witnesses certainly remember how he embittered the life of the legendary supersonic transport aircraft Aérospatiale-BAC Concorde. Today’s supersonic aircraft developers intend to deal with this problem as best they can.

Exosonic’s mission is to create advanced supersonic aircraft technology, as well as supply the US Air Force with supersonic combat drones for top combat pilot training. Tests are currently underway on the use of subsonic drones as simulated opponents in pilot training. But the US Air Force also wants to train pilots in supersonic mode. Today, human pilots play the role of simulated supersonic opponents on their machines. But it is expensive and there is not exactly a surplus of pilots and machines.

The US Air Force is therefore considering sophisticated drones that could take on this role. Exosonic is developing supersonic technology for commercial airliners, so why not use it for combat drones. This technology significantly reduces the manifestations of the sonic bang and at the same time improves the aerodynamics of the aircraft. The supersonic drone should carry a variety of loads and sensors that will be used in flight and simulated air operations.

Exosonic, on the other hand, intends to use such supersonic drones to test and demonstrate its technologies. And of course, some profit is useful. As Exosonic boss Norris Tie says, their goal is to carry passengers at supersonic speeds around the planet, even over land, which requires taming the sonic bang. Supersonic drones will move them to this goal, both technologically and economically.
