Los Angeles (dpa). The nominations for this year’s Oscars will be announced in Hollywood today (January 23rd). Favorites include films such as “Oppenheimer”, “Barbie”, “Killers of the Flower Moon” and “Poor Things”. The films “Anatomy of a Case” and “The Zone of Interest” with the German actress Sandra Hülser are also given chances.
In addition to Hülser, stars such as Margot Robbie, Emma Stone, Lily Gladstone, Bradley Cooper and Cillian Murphy can hope for a nomination.
The German film “The Teacher’s Room” by director Ilker Catak has a chance in the “International Feature Film” category. Wim Wenders could also be nominated there for his film “Perfect Days,” which was shot in Japan. Both made it onto a shortlist of 15 candidates in December, five of whom made it to the final round.
The nominations are announced by actress Zazie Beetz and her colleague Jack Quaid. The 96th Oscar Awards at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood is scheduled for March 10.
