It is the second time in his career that he has been nominated for the American film prize. He was previously nominated for his work on drama film Miracle, about a deformed boy. But that does not make it any less special for him. “It is a great honor, because it is of course the highest attainable in the film world. Then you do not say: oh well, another nomination.”
In addition to Tuiten, two of his colleagues have also been nominated. “The nomination is for all make-up in the film, so also for the other fairy.” He thinks the nomination has to do with the quality of the entire film. “There is so much work in it. And we are the only fantasy film that has been nominated for hair and makeup. That is special.”
