UGANDA – Lake Victoria in Uganda is the largest lake in Africa and the second largest in the world. But perhaps the most famous is Osama, crocodile The 75 year old Nile in charge kill and eat 80 people.
The 4.8 meter long beast terrorized the residents of Luganga, a village in Uganda, for years. From 1991 to 2005, these ‘bloodthirsty’ animals wiped out a tenth of the village’s population.
Many residents told how killer crocodiles would snatch children as they filled buckets of water by the lake, or swim under fishing boats and deliberately overturn them.
For citizens, these crocodiles are cunning and cruel. Villagers believe Osama, named after the notorious terrorist behind the 9/11 attacks, is immortal or, as some people whisper, Satan himself.
One man witnessed – and survived – a terrifying reptile attack, but his brother wasn’t so lucky.

The Sydney Morning Herald was speaking to Paul Kyewalyanga, who was rowing in the back of his boat when his brother Peter was fishing from the front when Osama jumped in and grabbed him.
“Osama just emerged from the water vertically and fell into the boat,” explained Paul.
“The back of the boat I was sitting on was submerged,” he continued.
The frightened fisherman called for help, but the crocodile had locked Peter’s leg with its huge jaws and began to tug at him, trying to plunge him into the water.
“Peter grabbed the crocodile and screamed. They fought for about five minutes until I heard a ripping sound,” he said.
“Peter screamed, ‘He broke my leg.’ Then he let go and was dragged into the lake. A few days later we found his head and arms,” he added.
