Do you want to travel around Europe freely and safely this summer? The Covid passport arrives in Euskadi. Osakidetza has already made available to the public the vaccination certificate that will enter into force in the European Union on July 1. That kind of approved ‘primer’ that will allow the restoration of internal mobility and that will be a lifesaver for the tourism sector.
On the horizon there are many doubts about the operation of this passport. The keys to understanding it are the following: being vaccinated, have a negative Covid test or a test that shows that they have overcome the disease and have developed antibodies.

The States assume to have it already in place on July 1, although Spain and France have already advanced its use. In Euskadi you can now download and Three types of documents are established that can be issued in paper format or via mobile phone app. To the vaccination certificate -the most important- the recovery certificate -if you have overcome the disease- will be added. Be careful, here is an important news. It will only work if the virus has been passed less than four months ago. If 181 days have passed from that positive test, this certificate will not work. Finally there will be the negative test document that must contain a PCR -72 hours before traveling- or a negative antigen -48 hours before-.

For now, Basques will only be able to obtain it through their electronic signature on the website of the Department of Health. The Basque Government continues to work on methods that allow citizens to obtain this card through the web without the need for an electronic signature and in person, for those who do not agree with new technologies.
How to download the Osakidetza Covid passport?
