During the city derby in the Eredivisie Indoor Football between VNS United, from North, and Os Lusitanos, from West, the match was briefly stopped due to chants from the home crowd. The two teams were equal in points before the game. Lusitanos won the derby 2-4 in the Elzenhagen sports hall and climbed to fourth place in the competition.
In the squatter, which according to NH Sport was at times hostile towards the team from West, things were evenly matched for a while. But in the end, Os Lusitanos, which was still called Lebo last season, was very efficient with the chances they got and the final score was already on the scoreboard at half time.
At the end of the match, a duel lasts two twenty minutes, there was a temporary stoppage. The referees were tired of the singing and chants from the stands, in which the coach and the captain of Lusitanos were regularly the subject. Together with the captains, the referees left for the changing rooms for consultation. About ten minutes later the match was resumed and finished without any problems.
Amsterdammers are doing well
After playing ten games, both OS Lusitanos and VNS United are in the top half of the Eredivisie. The club from North played its first season at the highest level last year and barely managed to avoid relegation, with six wins from ten games it is a completely different season at the moment.
The two teams are fourth and fifth respectively in the league and have a good chance of playing for the play-offs. In the Eredivisie indoor football, consisting of sixteen teams, the competition is divided into two groups after twelve matches. The top half of the competition will play for a place in the play-offs (place for six teams) and the bottom half will try to avoid relegation.
Unique sports hall
The sports hall in Noord, home of VNS United, recently had a unique floor. The lines consist of LED lighting, so that only the necessary lines can be seen at that moment. The floor consists of glass plates with LED strips underneath. There is a ‘coating’ over the floor that makes it a bit stiffer. The hall was festively opened this month by sports councilor Sofyan Mbarki.
