Some medicinal herbs are unique and bring great benefits to the body. One of these is Orthosiphon stamen, also known as kidney tea. Practicing rheumatologist, neurologist, academician of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the Russian Federation, author of books on health Pavel Evdokimenko reports that this plant has a multifaceted beneficial effect not only on the kidneys.

Orthosiphon restores kidney function, relieves swelling, removes salts (chlorides), urea and uric acid from the body, and has a beneficial effect on the functioning of the gallbladder. It is prescribed for urolithiasis, cholecystitis, cholelithiasis.

“I have studied a lot of scientific literature on Orthosiphon stamen, in addition, I have been using it regularly for many years, and have been prescribing it to my patients for a long time,” the doctor clarifies.

Orthosiphon, according to him, also helps with pyelonephritis and urinary tract infections, kidney cysts, cystitis, as well as gout, since it enhances the excretion of uric acid from the body. The plant is also useful for hypertension caused by poor kidney function. In addition, orthosiphon normalizes cholesterol levels in the blood.

An infusion is made from the leaves of Orthosiphon staminate. To do this, pour 1-2 tablespoons of leaves into 1 glass of boiling water, leave for 15-30 minutes, filter, squeeze out the raw leaves and throw away. Add boiled water to the infusion to make exactly 1 glass of infusion. It is better to make a fresh infusion every day.

“The resulting medicine is drunk warm. It is advisable to shake it a little before. You need to take half a glass 2 times a day, about 20-30 minutes before meals. But you can also during meals,” says the doctor.

The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks, maximum 4. Then they take a break for 2-3 months, after which the course can be taken again, in agreement with the doctor.
