Italian actress Ornella Muti wants to become a Russian citizen, she added in an interview with TASS.
“I would like to receive citizenship because it is part of my culture related to my mother. She died this year and it will be a gift for her,” said the actress.
The grandmother of the world movie star was born in St. Petersburg. She and her husband moved to Estonia, where the mother of Francesca Romana Riveli, as the actress’ real name is, cries.
“My mother didn’t know Russian very well, but I remember her singing songs to me in Russian: ‘Grandma, grandma, grandma came,'” recalls Ornella Muti, who thinks the Italians and the Russians are pretty close.
