The wholesale price of diesel oil in Orlen increased – compared to the data from Saturday, October 14 – by PLN 21 per cubic meter. The increase is not a one-time large increase, but it does mean that wholesale diesel is already the most expensive in a month.
PLN 4,779 per cubic meter (i.e. PLN 4,779 per liter) – this is the wholesale price of Ekodiesel diesel oil in Orlen on Tuesday, October 17. These are the first data after Sunday’s elections. The previous ones – published on Saturday, October 14 – indicated a price that was PLN 21 lower – PLN 4,758/m3.

The increase is not large, it only amounts to about two cents per liter. Wholesale diesel is still significantly cheaper in Orlen than in the first half of September.
On the other hand, if we zoom in on the chart a bit, it will turn out that after an increase of two cents per liter, wholesale diesel oil is already the most expensive in a month. Previously, it cost more on September 16. It is also the biggest single jump in the wholesale price of diesel in a month and a half. Diesel prices symbolically increased wholesale in Orlen in the first half of October, but the total increase was only about one grosz per liter.
The wholesale price of Eurosuper 95 gasoline has not changed since October 14 and is still PLN 4,754/m3.
Orlen reduced fuel prices before the elections
Orlen’s wholesale prices (and, of course, at gas stations) were in the spotlight before the elections. Experts then noticed that they were lower than European ones by at least PLN 1-1.50. This was, of course, related to the pre-election game of the company led by Daniel Obajtek.
At the same time, analysts estimated that fuel prices would have to be adjusted to realistic levels a few weeks after the elections. Of course, the final “right” price of fuel (especially diesel, because we have to rely on its import) will depend on the PLN exchange rate, the price of oil and the price of finished products on European markets, but there has been talk of an increase of over PLN 1 gradually spread over time. Orlen assured that “there will be no sudden price increase.”
,, Taking into account the current market situation, I would like to inform you that we do not anticipate any increase in prices at gas stations in the coming weeks
– Obajtek declared last week in an interview with PAP.
