8 tricks of greedy mechanics

PKN Orlen has prepared a list of seven points, thanks to which you can recognize fraudsters impersonating the concern.

1. Profile photos often show a modified logo of PKN ORLEN or other state-owned companies. They are also used in post graphics and advertisements.

2. Pay attention to suspicious names of profiles that posts come from. In the sample graphic they show a name similar to PKN ORLEN. A good way to verify the truthfulness of a profile is also to check the number of followers. If it is small, it could mean that the website is only impersonating the company.

3. The texts of the posts contain false information about the alleged investments and assets of the ORLEN Group or other state-owned companies. They may also contain linguistic errors.

4. Graphics placed in posts are often photomontages. The photos also show the profiles of politicians, sportsmen and board members of state-owned companies.

5. The graphics may contain different text colors, which are not used by PKN ORLEN.

6. The posts lead to pages that are in no way related to PKN ORLEN or licensed brokerage houses.

7. Posts that contain false information may have a high number of negative reactions and a small number of comments, which may indicate that the comments of people who are trying to warn others about fraud are being hidden.
