Sequestered since September in Orléans (Loiret) and regularly assaulted, a 22-year-old Algerian woman was rescued on Monday, December 7 by the police.
The young woman arrived in September from Algeria to join her husband of the same age. Since that date, she had been abused and confined in an apartment where her stepfather also lived. She only went out once a week with her husband to go shopping.
She managed to warn relatives
Sunday evening, the young woman was struck again. A punch broke her nose and she passed out after her husband strangled her. At first, one of the two men present called the emergency room, before canceling a few moments later for fear of a police visit.
Finally, Monday evening, the young woman, not mastering French, not knowing how to contact the emergency services and not knowing her address, managed to call relatives. Bac agents were able to intervene after geolocating the phone call.
Three Algerians in police custody
The victim was taken to hospital where he was issued a five-day ITT, while the husband and stepfather were taken into custody. Tuesday morning, the husband’s brother, aged 19 and living outside the apartment, was also arrested and taken into police custody.
All of Algerian nationality, the three men were to be brought to court on Wednesday, December 9 in the afternoon.
