A man, detained in the prison of Orléans-Saran, escaped from the regional hospital center of Orléans (CHRO), Friday March 24, we learned, Saturday March 25, from a source close to the file, this which confirms information from Figaro.
He is still wanted
The fugitive detainee, believed to be 35, was admitted to the CHRO to undergo surgery and was hospitalized in a secure room, “under the guard of the police”, indicates the national daily. The man, described as “dangerous”, is likely to have gone to the Lyon region, where his family would live. According to our information, the central direction of the judicial police has been seized: all the on-call duties have been notified.
Very few elements have leaked concerning this escape, the authorities preferring to remain discreet and the Orleans prosecutor’s office having not communicated on this subject.
The detainee was actively sought, Saturday, March 25, by the territorial direction of the judicial police of Orleans and the central direction of public security of Loiret.
Detainees supervised by the police or the penitentiary
“Inmates who are hospitalized are monitored either by the penitentiary or by the police, explains a union source. As a general rule, they remove the handcuffs during surgery and guards are posted in front of the room.”
“Escapes from prison no longer exist. It’s so secure! During medical extraction, it’s more “simple”, estimates this same source. There is no watchtower. But fortunately, it remains quite rare.” The escapes of detainees during leave are, according to the trade unionist, more frequent.
