The Confederation Cup finalthe African C3, opposes this Friday (9 p.m.) to Uyo (Nigeria), the Orlando Pirates to the Berkane sports revival. A clash of regulars of the summits between the South Africans, beaten in 2015 by Etoile du Sahel (2-1), and the Moroccans, who will play their third final in the event : beaten in 2018-19 by Zamalek (1-1, 5-3 pens) then winners for the first time a season later, in a final against another Egyptian team, Pyramids FC (1-0). It will be the very first time that RS Berkane and the Orlando Pirates meet in an official match, CAF indicates before this final between two teams which occupy seventh place in their respective championships and have given up everything for this continental competition.
Ibenge: “From 50-50”
” It is proud to be there. Since the start of the competition, several coaches wanted to be in this final and we are there,” said Florent Ibenge, the Congolese coach of RS Berkane during the pre-match press conference. “We argued very difficult matches (as in the semi-finals against TP Mazembe, editor’s note). Very high level matches and, especially mentally, we were put to severe tests. It’s a final and a final it’s 50/50. It is sure that wanting to win gives us more confidence but also for Orlando Pirates ”, added, cautious, the ex-coach of the Leopards, unfortunate finalist C1 (2014) then C3 (2018) with AS Vita Club.
