Orlando Magic: Mo Bamba leaves bubble for post-Covid exams

The interior of the Orlando Magic Mo Bamba, who contracted the coronavirus in early June, left the Disney World bubble to undergo Covid-19 exams and will not end the season, his club announced on Friday. “On the advice of the team’s medical staff, pivot Mo Bamba has left the NBA campus for a full post-coronavirus assessment,” the Florida franchise said in a statement. Bamba told the site The Athletic having been tested for Covid-19 on June 11, then losing taste and smell for a while and experiencing muscle pain and unusual fatigue.

The 22-year-old only played 11 minutes, in the first two meetings when the championship resumed at Disney World two weeks ago. He was not fielded in the next six matches. In 62 appearances he has averaged 5.4 points and 4.9 rebounds this season. He will therefore not take part in the 1st round of the play-offs between the Magic and Milwaukee and his star Giannis Antetokounmpo on whom he should have defended after leaving the bench.
