ORLANDO – Paolo Banchero scored 23 points, Jonathan Isaac played in his first NBA game in 2 1/2 years and the Orlando Magic ended the Boston Celtics’ nine-game winning streak with a 113-98 victory Monday.
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown each had 26 points for the Celtics, who got only one 3-pointer as Tatum hit a 3-pointer to cut Orlando’s lead to 97-95 with 6:20 remaining.
Wendell Carter Jr. had 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Magic. Cole Anthony started on the bench and finished with 18 points, five rebounds and four assists.
Isaac has missed 211 games since suffering a torn ACL in the season restart in the bubble at Walt Disney World on August 2, 2020. He finished with 10 points, three rebounds and nine rebounds in nine and a half minutes. .
Orlando led 55-54 at halftime, but extended their lead to 13 points on 3-pointers by Isaac and Gary Harris on a 15-3 run midway through the third quarter.
It was the third straight victory for the Magic over the Celtics after losing the previous 10.
