American actor Orlando Bloom, known from the film series Pirates of the Caribbean and The Lord of the Rings, has become the ambassador of the Czech beer brand Staropramen. The multinational company Molson Coors, which is the parent company of the Pivovary Staropramen group, informed about it.
According to the company, Bloom will appear in a new TV commercial for the Staropramen brand and will be part of the brand’s social media campaign in Europe this year. The commercial was shot in Prague and Bloom explains his relationship to this city and the emergence of the local beer culture, writes Molson Coors.
According to the company, Bloom said that he fell in love with Prague when he lived and worked there for several years. “It’s a wonderful city full of wonderful people, but they’re hard to please when it comes to beer,” he said. “Staropramen has been satisfying this discerning audience for more than a hundred years, which shows how good it is,” he added.
Bloom spent a lot of time in the Czech Republic thanks to the filming of the series Carnival Row. “Orlando is the perfect partner for Staropramen – he is a master of his field, just like our brewers, and he has a special relationship with Prague, having lived and worked here for several years,” said Debbie Macková, Director of Beer Brands in Molson Coors’ Europe, Middle East division , Africa and the Asia-Pacific region.
