Speaking about the competitiveness of Latvian food producers with other European producers, Zeps pointed out that the project is “huge” and the production facility is aimed at export. Zeps added that although the plant is open, work is still being done to complete the installation and testing of new equipment. By the end of the year, the company plans to complete testing and preparation of the entire product portfolio for commercial production, as well as employee training, ensuring that employees can work more efficiently.

It has already been reported that “Orkla Biscuit Production” was registered on May 20, 2020, and its share capital is EUR 30 million. The sole owner of the company is the Estonian “Orkla Eesti”.

The turnover of “Orkla Latvija” group last year was 111.059 million euros, which is 2.1% less than in 2021, while the company’s profit increased 2.8 times and reached 6.046 million euros.

The company was registered in 2009, and its share capital is eight million euros. In Latvia, “Orkla” represents and develops “Laima”, “Selga”, “Staburadze”, “Ādažu Chipsi”, “Spilva”, “Gutta”, “Latplanta” and other brands. The company is part of the Norwegian concern “Orkla”.
