Agus said that the Orionid meteor shower occurred because the remaining dust from Halley’s comet entered the Earth’s atmosphere.
Halley’s Comet takes about 76 years to orbit or circle the sun once in its path.
According to him, the estimated number of meteors that can be seen at its peak is around 20 meteors per hour, or one meteor per three minutes.
Moreover, this year, the Moon will be around 37 percent brighter than usual, so the Orionid meteor shower will be more clearly visible.
Sometimes, the Orionid meteor shower also produces spectacular displays of up to 80 meteors per hour.
However, in recent years, this astronomical phenomenon has produced more modest displays of around 20 or 30 meteors per hour.
