In the very first Star Wars—Film that was released in this country in 1977 war of stars and after expanding the franchise now Episode IV: A New Hope means they can be seen for the first time: the iconic spaceships in which Luke Skywalker and the rebels take on the all-powerful Empire and Darth Vader. The fighter planes are called because of their double wings X-Wings and are so close with the Star Wars-World linked, like lightsabers and Yoda. But in the early years there were no high-tech computer animations and special effects. Instead, large parts of the fictional universe, planets and backdrops were lovingly made by hand and then staged for the films.
Lost X-Wing-Model reappears
For a long time one of the miniature models was considered the X-Wings as disappeared. In fan circles it was even called “the missing X-wing”. But now it has unexpectedly resurfaced in a special estate. The auction house Heritage Auctions offers the special collector’s item as part of a collection that not only… Star Wars– should bring a light into the eyes of fans. Because all the pieces on offer belonged to the American Greg Jein. Jein, who died last year, worked as a special effects technician on numerous Hollywood and TV productions. He was particularly known for his miniatures, which he created for science fiction classics such as Star Wars made. In many scenes in the films the models can be seen in action, such as the X-wing fighters attacking the Death Star.
