Mr. Jun Miura and Mr. Seiko Ito were appointed as ambassadors of Buddhist statues (public relations ambassadors) for the special exhibition “Sacred Land Minamiyamashiro – Treasures of Prayers Connecting Nara and Kyoto -” to be held at the Nara National Museum from July 8th to September 3rd. 5 types of exhibition limited original goods supervised by the two will be on sale.
The Minamiyamashiro Minamiyamashiro area (former country name: Yamashiro Province) is located in the southernmost part of Kyoto Prefecture, adjacent to Nara City. This exhibition marks the completion of the five-year preservation and restoration of the National Treasure Nine Amida Statues (nine wooden seated Amida Nyorai statues), which are the principal images of Joruri-ji Temple (Kamo-cho, Kizugawa City, Kyoto Prefecture), an ancient temple in the area. This is a special exhibition to commemorate.

Ms. Yui Yokoyama from Kizugawa City as the audio guide navigator
Former AKB48 member Yui Yokoyama will serve as the voice guide navigator. Mr. Yokoyama is from Kizugawa City, Kyoto Prefecture, which is the center of the Minamiyamashiro area.
