Organizes an idea contest about opportunities to spend free time in the future Kaugur youth house

Jūrmala Youth Initiative Center (JIC) is organizing a youth idea contest on opportunities to spend free time in the future Kaugur youth center and park, Jūrmala municipality informs.

In the premises of the Youth Initiative Center of Kaugur Youth Center on two floors, various opportunities for spending free time and improving for young people aged 13-25 will be available free of charge.

In the social network accounts of “Jūrmala youth”, you can familiarize yourself with the premises of the youth home and the park’s resources, as well as the opportunities that young people and youth workers have expressed as necessary and which are planned to be implemented in the home.

The youth house will have thematic studios and open-access rooms – a kitchen, a quiet room where specialist consultations will also take place, a co-creation room, a creative studio, a music studio, a media studio, a game room and a multifunctional hall. On the other hand, a skate park, an open-air stage, a basketball court, street gymnastics bars and other resources have been built in the park.

Young people are invited to express their ideas, which game or equipment to buy, as well as to express their ideas about some design elements for the premises.

As reported, the Jūrmala City Council extended the deadline for commissioning the construction of Kauguru recreation park and youth house until August 31, and also allocated additional funding for the completion of the project.

Kauguru Park is intended for recreation, sports activities and public events, organization of youth interest and professional orientation training. The youth house will have premises for the Jūrmala Youth Initiative Center, for the creation of a music, technical and photo studio, as well as a multi-purpose hall.

Part of the premises will be leased to merchants for the provision of catering and active recreation services. The municipality implements the project with the co-financing of the European Regional Development Fund.

The cost of the project without additional expenses is EUR 8,953,949, of which ERDF funding is EUR 1.4 million.
