Those accused of organizing the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall concert hall in the city of Krasnogorsk near Moscow have named the alleged organizer of the attack, who they promised one million rubles (nearly 10 thousand euros) to each, which they were supposed to receive in Kiev, TASS reported, quoted by BTA.
In the attack in Krasnogorsk, 144 people died and 551 were injured. Russian authorities have detained 11 people, four of whom, all from Tajikistan, have been charged as direct perpetrators.
The Islamic State group’s branch in Afghanistan claimed responsibility for the terrorist act, but Russian authorities persistently maintained that “Ukrainian nationalists” are behind the organization. Ukraine denies any connection to the attack.
A video of the interrogation of the accused by the Russian Federal Security Service was broadcast on the First Channel of Russian television.
According to the claims of one of the defendants, a person named Saifulo told them that they should go to the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, where they would be given a million rubles each.
Another defendant stated that they were promised help to cross the Ukrainian border. “We left for Kiev, where the money was supposed to be waiting – one million rubles each. Saifulo said that there will be guys waiting for us at the border of Ukraine who will help us cross the border and get to Kiev,” he says.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia and former President and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev called the leaders of the United States, Great Britain, France and Germany “complicit” in the attack on Crocus City Hall, which he said Ukraine was behind.
In a post on the “X” platform, Medvedev wrote that “the real guarantors are the Bandera freaks, your graduates. And the accomplices in this murder are all of you, (US President Joe) Biden, (French President Emmanuel) Macron, (British Prime Minister Rishi) Sunak, (German Chancellor Olaf) Scholz and the rest”.
