Organization wants to hold GDC from August 4 – Gaming – News

The Game Developer Conference game show, which was canceled this month, has announced a new event for next summer. GDC Summer should take place from August 4-6, says the organization.

GDC Summer must take place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, says the organization. It will be a three-day event, including a two-day expo. The setup is therefore slightly different from the GDC event that was planned for last week.

The stock market did not go through last week because of the recent worldwide coronavirus outbreak. Even then, the organization, Informa Tech, announced that it was looking for a new date later in the summer to let the fair go ahead anyway.

If everything continues later this year, GDC will be closer than usual to Gamescom in Cologne, which starts on August 25. Game fair E3 in June has already been canceled. Informa Tech seems to be aiming to organize another regular event in 2021. The organization says it is monitoring the outbreak of the virus to see if GDC Summer can continue.
