He also reports that on 7 September the regional hospital “Centenario de la Revolución” of the Issste, located in the state of Morelos, obtained a multi-organ donation from a three-year-old four-month-old child, who unfortunately fell into brain death secondary to cranioencephalic trauma. due to a vehicular accident.
Well, he said the family, amid grief over his loss, decided to authorize the donation knowing that his son would save four children whose lives were in danger and could restore sight to two others.
In this way, he said, they managed to get two kidneys and two corneas, which benefited pediatric patients from the Mexican Institute of Social Security, and two heart valves for compatible people from Mexico’s Federico Gómez pediatric hospital.
He also stressed that, in terms of donation and transplants, the ISSTE operates and collaborates with all the institutions of the health sector under the coordination of the National Transplant Center (Cenatra), with the aim of saving and improving human lives, wherever they are. .the most suitable recipients for each organ and tissue obtained.
