Organ donation – a mission, logical action or blasphemy of the body?

Aleksis Vilciņš, who has already taken the opportunity to make a note about donating his organs after death, musician Uģis Glāzītis, who donated a kidney to his son, and doctor, head of the National Transplantation Coordination Center Jurijs Bormotovs, visit host Oskars Leper in the studio.

In society, the attitude towards organ donation and donors is not clear-cut, and the experience is very diverse. What is life like after donating a kidney to your son? How developed is the organ donation movement in Latvia and where do medical students get organs when they need it for their studies? Also, not everyone knows what to do to officially make a mark in the registers that you want to donate your organs to save others’ lives or to science.
