ORF editor Theo Peer died at the age of 93. This was announced by his family on Friday. Peer worked as a piano teacher at the Innsbruck Conservatory for 13 years. He also worked as a freelancer for the ORF regional studio in Tyrol. The native of Innsbruck achieved nationwide fame primarily through his “Alpine Interviews”, which were broadcast for months on Ö3.
As a pianist, he made artists such as Béla Bartók, Zoltán Kodály and Gottfried von Einem known throughout Tyrol. He also premiered many works by Peter Zwetkoff, Bert Breit, Erich Urbanner and Robert Nessler. Most recently, Peer lived in the Tyrolean municipality of Steinach am Brenner.
