/ world today news/ KNSB leader Plamen Dimitrov and the executive chairman of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce (BCC) argued sharply about what economic measures the next government should take.
“First of all, in our opinion, 800 million can be generated. – 1 billion BGN from the uncollected taxes from excise goods”, said Plamen Dimitrov in the morning block of BTV. “When we can’t raise rates, we have to raise fundamentals. There was also a consensus to introduce a tax-free minimum, which would be a measure for poorer Bulgarians with low incomes,” he says. According to the trade unionist, this is the way to give people and businesses “a breath of fresh air”.
The KNSB leader also demanded an increase in the minimum wage from July to stimulate household demand. In this regard, however, the BSK leader is adamant that there will again be a negative effect on the economy and an increase in its gray part. “When we talk about increasing consumption, we must not forget that more than 80% of what is sold in Bulgaria is imported!”.
According to his words, in this way, the trade unions constantly present “populist views”, and the increasing unemployment is more dangerous. “Lack of jobs increases domestic crime, increases immigration. We need to create jobs for low-skilled people”, believes Bozhidar Danev.
According to him, there can be no talk of nationalization, as we will be like some African countries where inflation is over 30%. “We need to give some government, give it 200 days and attract investors,” says the BSK leader.
Bozhidar Danev believes that the increasing price of electricity is at the “base of the price pyramid” in the country: “Who is this investor who will invest in our country?”.
In the name of a prosperous Bulgaria, let us form a government, says Bozhidar Danev “After an expert government, people can be attracted from everywhere – with competences and experience. We can have a discussion about what his program will be and there will be a clash between the political forces.”
“We all see that with the mandate of perhaps the second political power,” says Plamen Dimitrov. According to him, he hopes that the public’s protest energy, “quieted during the caretaker government”, has not disappeared. “For me, it’s more important what the new government will do,” says the union leader.
However, the two agreed that the potential prime minister nominated by the BSP, Plamen Oresharski, is a good candidate. “He is a good, recognized expert,” stated Bozhidar Danev. According to Plam, Dimitrov Oresharski is an experienced person, but the important thing is not to forget what “the street wanted” two months ago./PIK/
