Airline airplane passengers Alaska Airlines described the horror felt in the cabin when one of the window panels had fallen off while the plane was in the air. Some passengers were unaware of the incident until emergency oxygen masks suddenly fell from the cabin ceiling.
As reported AFPSaturday (6/1/2024), one of the passengers named Vi Nguyen said that he woke up from sleep when a loud noise was suddenly heard in the plane cabin. Incident This happened on a flight from Portland, Oregon to Ontario, California, United States of America (US) on Friday (5/1) afternoon US time.
“I opened my eyes and the first thing I saw was an oxygen mask right in front of me,” Nguyen said when speaking to the New York Times.
“And I looked to the left and the wall on the side (cabin) of the plane was gone,” he said.
“The first thing I thought was, ‘I’m going to die,'” Nguyen said.
Alaska Airlines confirmed in a statement that there was an incident on flight 1282, which took off from Portland, Oregon.
“The plane landed safely at Portland International Airport with 171 passengers and 6 crew on board,” Alaska Airlines said in a statement.
“We are investigating what happened and will provide more information as it becomes available,” the statement added.
