Orchestra “Rīga” invites you to a concert talk about music “School musical secrets” at VEF Culture Palace on January 31. In addition to the orchestra and conductor Daumantas Kalniņš, a special guest – Dmitrijs Pudovs from the Riga Circus School – will also take part in the concert.
The concert “School Musical Secrets” will herald the integration of music into other school subjects. Valdis Butāns, the author of the idea of the concert program, the artistic director and conductor of the “Rīga” orchestra, says: “Most often, students learn something new about music in schools only in the music classrooms, but at least a small part of music can be found in almost every subject. During our concert talk, Daumants Kalniņš and the “Rīga” orchestra will search and discover that mathematics, natural sciences, sports, drawing, vocational training and other subjects can be (and really are) also musical!”
Singer Daumants Kalniņš will complement the music performed by the “Rīga” orchestra with stories and songs, while Dmitrijs Pudovs, teacher of the Riga Circus School, will touch on such a mystical topic as the manipulation of objects in the concert. The concert is intended for students of younger grades. “This will give you the opportunity to gain not only the experience of aesthetic and musical experience, but also to supplement your knowledge in music, improve your personality and develop emotional perception. Music is able to awaken the student’s fantasy, activate imagination, as well as promote synthesis and generalization abilities,” the organizers of the concert emphasize.
