The orchestra “Riga” will resume concert activities in person this summer and, together with local organ players, will invite to classical music concerts on August 10 and 24 in the Riga Dome, the representatives of the orchestra informed.
“We are really excited about the long-awaited opportunity to meet the audience again – it is impossible to replace this unique live concert experience with anything else. Concerts in Riga Dome with high-quality classical music programs have grown into a beautiful and long-awaited summer event, ”says Valdis Butāns, the artistic director of the orchestra“ Rīga ”.
On the evening of August 10, in the concert “Bach, Bruckner, Britens” – reunion of the orchestra “Riga” with conductor Jānis Liepiņš, the first conductor of the Mannheim National Theater and the conductor of the Latvian National Opera and Ballet. Organist Aigars Reinis and oboist Elīna Kuduma will take part in the concert. The program will feature opuses by the Baroque giant Johann Sebastian Bach, the late representative of Romanticism Anton Bruckner and the 20th century classic Benjamin Britten.
On August 24, organist Diana Jaunzeme-Portnaya will give a concert in the concert “Bach, Dvorak, Debussy”. The soloist of the Latvian National Opera – soprano Jūlija Vasiljeva – will play together with the orchestra under the direction of conductor Valdis Butāns.
